NLI 2.0
In 2009, the structure of NLI will change. We’re calling it NLI 2.0. The current 3 departments (LD; CP; STM) will be replaced by 6 European regions (Baltic; Atlantic; Mediterranean; Central; Balkan; Eastern). Our mission "to empower a whole new generation of radical leaders to equip, transform & expand the Church in Europe" hasn’t changed. We will always seek to develop leaders, plant churches, & mobilise mission teams, but we want to be more effective in doing this: to have greater Kingdom impact across Europe.
Our goal is to build ‘ministry relationships’ in all 47 European nations by 2020! This is going to be a huge challenge & we will need many more labourers & finance, but we believe this is our God-given mandate & are passionate to see more people impacted by the grace & power of Jesus Christ.
Our partners probably won’t notice too much difference, although of course our aim is become more effective. The regions cover particular geographical areas, with each nation having its own unique flavour; culture; people groups; needs. Each Regional Team, (NLI staff, Operational Centres, national leaders etc.) will coordinate the particular projects & aspects of ministry needed in each region/nations. Since its inception, NLI has probably never taken such radical steps to see transformation in Europe.
Please get behind us in prayer & support at this time. I’ll continue to keep you up to date with the progress.

back in town
I’m back from a month away, firstly a 3 week furlough in Australia and a week of holidays, (if you call walking many miles every day, fighting with and wading against the tide of millions of Japanese commuters on the Tokyo train system a holiday).
I had a great time catching up with a number of friends and supporters in Australia and then I had the honour of giving away our eldest daughter Toni. The wedding went really well and we are looking forward to the next one.

china’s evangelisation of europe
Are the Chinese the next wave of missionaries to Europe? Is China, the recipient of hundreds of years of missionary input, now in a position to take the gospel back to Europe and the rest of the world?
Since the Enlightenment, the Church in Europe has suffered serious decline and European society today is largely secular. Can Chinese missionaries turn Europeans back to Christ?
The history of Christian missions, after all, is the chronicle of Western missionaries and their exploits, and the notion of missionaries from the East preaching to a godless Europe is the stuff of creative fiction.
Momentum magazine has an interesting article on the potential of the once recipient countries becoming the sending countries of the new era.

video spot
I recorded a video spot for Edge church yesterday, it will be used for all 3 campuses and is basically a thank you to the church for it’s continued support and kindness. I was just like Homestar Runner? It was great!
