NLI 2.0 transition to go well

NLI 2.0

In 2009, the structure of NLI will change. We're calling it NLI 2.0.

The current 3 departments (LD; CP; STM) will be replaced by 6 European regions (Baltic; Atlantic; Mediterranean; Central; Balkan; Eastern). Our mission "to empower a whole new generation of radical leaders to equip, transform & expand the Church in Europe" hasn't changed. We will always seek to develop leaders, plant churches, & mobilise mission teams, but we want to be more effective in doing this: to have greater Kingdom impact across Europe.

Our goal is to build ‘ministry relationships’ in all 47 European nations by 2020! This is going to be a huge challenge & we will need many more labourers & finance, but we believe this is our God-given mandate & are passionate to see more people impacted by the grace & power of Jesus Christ.

Our partners probably wont notice too much difference, although of course our aim is to become more effective. The regions cover particular geographical areas, with each nation having its own unique flavour; culture; people groups; needs. Each Regional Team, (NLI staff, Operational Centres, national leaders etc), will coordinate the particular projects & aspects of ministry needed in each region/nations. Since its inception, NLI has probably never taken such radical steps to see transformation in Europe.

We would really appreciate your prayer & support at this time. I'll continue to keep you up to date with the progress.

Visas

We had a small set back here when we recently went to the Home office to renew our visas. Due to the "unusual nature" of living in a country while receiving support from another, the case worker was unable, to make a decision. As a result we were asked to get some more documentation from Australia and then submit the application by mail. This presented some problems such as mailing times from Australia, current processing time of applications around 18-20 weeks! The applications have been submitted as of 6 weeks ago and as yet we have no passports so all current travel plans are going pear shaped very quickly.

We would really appreciate your prayer support at this time? Firstly and most importantly for a successful application, secondly for a quick application processing time. Scott needs to be available for travel and being grounded for 20+ weeks is not helpful!

Family News

Scott's trip to Australia went very well and he was so thankful to be able to catch up with as many friends as he did. He had an extremely busy schedule but enjoyed it all. He was dissappointed that he wasn't able to see everyone as time just didn't allow for it. From Australia he flew into Tokyo, Japan to meet with the rest of the family for Toni, our eldest daughter's wedding. The wedding went very well despite the many opportunities for cross-cultural misunderstandings, and we all survived the Japanese rail system! Lynda played the proud mother of the bride to perfection.

Daniel has started as a teaching assistant in the music and drama department at a local High school in Nuneaton and Asha is continuing with her hairdressing.

We are all well and happy despite the lack of summer this year and we are all wanting the visa process to hurry along. Thank you for your continued support, love and friendship.

Scott & Lynda Thomson are living in Bedworth, UK and working with Next Level International. NLI is called to empower a new generation of leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church throughout Europe. With three of their four children they have re-located to the UK.

Scott is the Director of Operations at NLI. With ministry opportunities in Western, Central & Eastern Europe, as well as pastoral ministry responsibilities in the UK. NLI is a totally self supporting organisation and as such the Thomson's need to raise their own support.
